Meet Upsider Therapy Associate Therapist, Isabella!

By: Isabella Gabaldon, LMSW

Hello Everyone!

I'm Isabella Gabaldon, LMSW, a dedicated Licensed Social Worker with Upsider Therapy. I was born and lived in Caracas, Venezuela, before life brought me to Greenwich, Connecticut. Growing up bilingual and bicultural gave me a deep appreciation for the richness of human experiences and the power of connection. I earned my degree in Communications and Anthropology at the University of Colorado Boulder, followed by my Masters of Science in Social Work at Columbia University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022.

After graduation, I worked in the emergency department at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, where I had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse and interdisciplinary team. This experience deepened my understanding of crisis intervention and reinforced my passion for supporting individuals in navigating life’s challenges.

I’m passionate about helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate interpersonal relationships, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. In my practice, I embrace a client-centered and strengths-based approach, meeting you where you are in your unique journey and tailoring therapy to your specific needs.

My work is rooted in evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices, combined with empathy and creativity. As a therapist, I understand the transformative power of therapy firsthand and am a strong believer in its ability to foster meaningful change.

Therapy is a deeply personal experience, and my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel empowered to share, explore, and grow. Building a strong therapeutic alliance is at the heart of my work, and I’m committed to walking alongside you as we navigate the path toward healing and self-discovery.

Here are 3 fun facts about me:

1. I love going to the movies and make it a point to go at least once a week.
2. I have two adorable Pomeranians with alopecia (no hair).
3. President Bill Clinton was the witness at both my civil and church wedding—a memory I’ll cherish forever!

Whether you’re seeking coping strategies, clarity, or simply someone to listen, I am here for you. Together, we will navigate life’s complexities and work toward a more balanced, fulfilling future. I can’t wait to get to know you!
