Meet Elizabeth! Upsider Therapy's Newest Therapist
Hi! My name is Elizabeth Koblenz, a Licensed Masters of Social Worker and a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Social Work. I am proud to be a Psychotherapist at Upsider Therapy. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults and families alike in hopes of helping them achieve their goals and foster skills to help them become their best selves.
My background is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which allows me to help my clients learn new ways of coping with situations that may feel challenging. We will work together to turn the negative thinking into positive thinking and help foster new skills to handle difficult days. My specialties include anxiety, depression, relationships and friendships, behaviors, social stressors, and conflicts between parents and children.
Among a variety of topics, one of my specialities is helping to navigate the world of social media. With the rise of social media and the anxiety, jealousy and unhappiness it creates, I have made it a priority to work with demographics that are most affected by this – children, adolescents and young adults. Often times when using social media, we are driven by the idea that someone else’s reality is perfect. This can create distance between friendships causing feelings of loneliness, isolation and low self-esteem. Working with my clients to help them achieve happiness and success in their every day life is a goal that I strive for, both on and off social media.
It is a common theme in today’s world to bottle what you might feel and not be able to express your thoughts with someone you can trust and confide in. It is of the utmost importance to build rapport with my clients so that I am a person they can share their feelings with; helping my clients feel comfortable to open up and create new strategies to navigate these obstacles is my priority. I will ensure that you are receiving my unending support, sticking by you every step of the process.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends (especially my adorable nieces), watching a new TV show, spinning with a friend, or baking new recipes!
Here are 3 fun facts about me:
1. My favorite dessert is a big chocolate chip cookie.
2. I have a small puppy, named Tallulah.
3. I enjoy cooking.
My goal is to help my clients feel their best and learn ways to navigate their busy and eventful lives. To learn more about me or to work with me, send me an email at Elizabeth@UpsiderTherapy.com. I look forward to working with you!
